Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actor, known for her roles in the film Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Haiin Koun..! She started her career in early 1980s. Her character as Anil Kapoor on Tezaab has made her incredibly popular. The next film she acted in, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared alongside her. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she started learning dance in the early years of her life. At the age of 15 began acting, but faced difficulties as most films she made were unpopular. However, she eventually achieved success and was able to establish herself as one of the best actors in the Indian industry of film. After her marriage the actress took time to rest from her acting career until she returned. She played a major role on Gulaab Gang, a film which explores women's struggles within India. Dixit has been nominated 15 times in the Filmfare Awards. She won eight of the awards. She was also honored with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honor in India. Her fame is based on her work in the field of social service as well.
